The Wharton MBA program is ranked #1. 3 total no. Ranked first in the consulting and finance specialisations category in the annual report of QS Quacquarelli Symonds, a company that ranks the world’s top universities.
In the 2023 global full-time MBA program rankings, Wharton ranked first and second after Stanford Business School and Harvard Business School, respectively. Last year, Wharton and Harvard tied for second place. In this year’s report, Wharton was also ranked No. 1. 4 Information Management, No. Marketing No. 18, No. 18. 10 Start a business.
QS, a UK company specialising in analysing higher education institutions, analysed global MBA programmes in 47 countries using five data lenses, with employability as the main indicator. It also uses lenses of entrepreneurship and alumni outcomes, return on investment, thought leadership, and class and faculty diversity in its analysis.
Penn received the highest score in the world for thought leadership, an indicator determined by the school’s academic reputation, research impact and the proportion of faculty with doctorates.
The US dominates this year’s ranking of global business schools, according to a press release written by QS communications manager Will Barbieri. Of the 300 programs ranked, 115 are U.S. programs. Business schools in the US include 5 of the top 10 and 40 of the top 100.
In addition to the overall ranking of global business schools, QS also ranks top business schools based on seven MBA career specializations, including consulting, information management, operations management, finance, marketing, technology and entrepreneurship. Rankings are based on a school’s success in three categories: career placement, employer reputation and research strength.
QS released its first edition of the QS World University Rankings in 2004 and began ranking the world’s top MBA programs in 2015. The Wharton School ranks second in the highest ranking for 2021.
