Warriors guard Jordan Poole completes 4-year, $140 million extension: sources

Warriors guard Jordan Poole is on the verge of a four-year extension with the Golden State Warriors that could be worth as much as $140 million, sources confirmed to The Athletic on Saturday. ESPN first reported news of the deal.

Poole’s new deal will guarantee $123 million, according to sources. Likely and unlikely incentives could add an additional $17 million over the life of the contract. The deal was reached on Saturday but has not been formally signed or announced.

That locks Poole into the next five seasons. He will make $3.9 million in the upcoming season, the final season of his rookie deal, before the start of the upcoming 2023-24 season.

The 23-year-old was selected by the Warriors with the 28th overall pick in the first round of the 2019 NBA Draft. Poole was great midway through his second season and carried it into his third, leading the NBA in 3-pointers in the final two months of last season. He then averaged 17 points per game on 50/39/91 shooting during the playoffs.
