Veoneer co-developer of PACEpilot awarded seat technology

Stockholm, September 23 February 2022 /PRNewswire/—— Veoneer, a global automotive technology company, a leader in active safety and restraint control systems, has co-developed with Lear Corporation (NYSE: LEA), a global automotive technology leader in seating and electronic systems, to support the Lear ConfigurE+ removable seat ‘s electronics feature area security technology, which was named a Notable Innovation by Automotive News PACEpilot.

The safety solution is the first wireless and electronic-based system to identify seat position and seat status – key to the adoption of reconfigurable seats in vehicles. Smart technology automatically activates safety features in the second and third rows of the vehicle based on detected seat position and orientation and occupant status.

Automotive News’ PACEpilot enters its third year in 2022. The PACEpilot judges reviewed the innovations of the 23 finalists and presented the awards at the awards ceremony September 19 exist Detroit.
