VAAFM: Primary Producer Impact Grants Open Soon!

ARPA Funded Primary Producer Grant

Vermont Agri-Food and Marketing Agency Are you a primary producer of farm or forest products looking for funding to support market development, research and design, infrastructure improvements, energy projects or workforce training and development?

Applications for the Working Land Enterprise Initiative Primary Producer Impact Grant funded by the American Relief Program Act (ARPA) are coming soon! Applications will be released on October 28 and the application portal will be open from November 9-December 16. The application is divided into two stages, and applicants entering the second round will be notified in early February 2023. The expected project start date is early summer 2023.

Applicants can apply for grants between $50,000 and $250,000 and must provide a 100% match. Only primary producers of agricultural and forest products are eligible to apply for ARPA-funded Primary Producer Impact Grants.

Examples of eligible primary production activities are agriculture, livestock raising, sugar production, dairy products and logging. Applicants are required to provide a narrative description of their primary production activities and submit documentation confirming their status as primary producers.

The Northeast Dairy Business Innovation Centre (NE-DBIC) is recruiting cheese makers and other producers of specialty dairy products to showcase their products at SIAL Canada.

SIAL is Canada’s largest international food and beverage trade show, taking place in Toronto from May 9 to May 11, 2023. As part of the Regional Value Added Dairy Pavilion hosted by NE-DBIC, businesses will benefit from a range of services and subsidised booth space.

VEDA Short-Term Forgivable Loan App

Short-Term Forgivable Loans App Coming Soon

The Vermont Economic Development Authority (VEDA) received funding through the America Relief Program Act to support businesses that continue to suffer economic damage from COVID-19.

November 1, The app will be open to all business units. So far, it only applies to priority businesses as defined by the state of Vermont.

Businesses must have fewer than 500 employees, have been operating as of March 13, 2020, and demonstrate economic damage from COVID-19.

You can download the application package here, which includes a tool to calculate your eligibility and potential loan size. Applicants are encouraged to seek technical assistance to determine their eligibility.
