As an independent brand and progressive manufacturer, MYKITA is proud to set an example by being the first company in the eyewear industry to fully convert its acetate supply to sustainable acetate renewal. With a meticulous eye for detail, this artistic film highlights the premium quality of this innovative material, which achieves a full turn without compromising the look or performance of MYKITA’s handcrafted eyewear designs.

The film is also a showcase of one of Eastman’s pioneering molecular recycling technologies, and uses CGI in part to visualize the process, breaking down previously difficult-to-recycle plastics down to the molecular level to form recycled acetate of the same quality as conventional acetate. Material. This circular economy innovation makes it possible to actively divert material waste from landfills, incinerators or ending up in the ocean.

Eastman Acetate Renew is a predominantly bio-based material made from certified sustainable wood pulp, using recycled waste plastics instead of fossil resources. Acetate Renew looks, feels and performs the same as the highest quality traditional acetate, resulting in a significantly lower carbon footprint for eyeglass frames, reducing it by a third compared to traditional manufacturing processes.
