SIU’s Paul Simon Institute to Host New York Times’ Chief European Business Correspondent in Webinar
Carbondale, Illinois. — Liz Alderman, chief European business correspondent for The New York Times, will join the Paul Simon Institute for Public Policy on Monday, November 11 at 9 a.m. for a virtual conversation. 7.
Alderman will discuss the political, economic and social upheaval sweeping Europe with Institute Director John Shaw.

“Leeds is a highly skilled and experienced journalist whose articles document extraordinary events in Europe driven by technological revolutions, political upheaval and Russia’s brutal war against Ukraine,” Shaw said.

Alderman began his career at the U.S. Congress and Federal Reserve in Washington, D.C. She then moved to Europe as BridgeNews’ Paris bureau chief, business editor of the International Herald Tribune, and business assistant editor of The New York Times. She is now the paper’s chief European business correspondent in Paris.
The event is part of the Paul Simon Institute’s “Understanding Our New World” virtual dialogue series with government and private sector leaders, policy experts, political analysts, writers and journalists.
