Following a fire at the Import Parts Center, the Medford Fire Department asked people to avoid the North Pacific Highway area near Elm Avenue.
Multiple crews were fighting the blaze, which sent thick black smoke into the air in an area near an intersection near numerous businesses. Witnesses took pictures of the fire on social media channels, where the flames were visible.
The Medford Fire Department reported in its own Facebook post that the structure fire will temporarily close the North Pacific Highway between Hazel Street and Elm Avenue.
