Hundreds of small businesses attend Cape Girardeau Christmas event

Cape Girardeau, Missouri (KFVS) – Hundreds of people took over part of downtown Cape Girardeau to buy some Christmas items.

North Frederick Street next to the detached house is packed with dozens of small businesses as part of the Old Town Cape Holiday Bazaar.

There are plenty of baked goods, crafts and Christmas decorations for those who want to get in the Christmas spirit.

Brittany Watkins, owner of Bee Double You Designs, is one of the suppliers. She says it’s a pleasure to meet and talk to people, and offers her products as unique gifting options.

“It’s been really great for all of us,” Watkins said. “It gave us all a great sense of community, and also, everyone can find us in a different way. Not only can you find people through your community, but word of mouth is also what gets your business out there A very good way.”

Emma Roth, owner of Omete Creek Creations, said she was excited to be part of an event where she could talk to people and create the perfect gift for them.

“Not only do I sell stuff here, but I get a lot of custom orders,” Ross said. “Most of my work is bespoke. Then, I go with exactly what people want. So, even if they don’t buy something from me today, there’s a good chance they’ll message me later. “

Also on hand are the Grinch and live dance performances from Fingerprint Urban Dance Studio.
