Atlanta-Gray TV has promoted James Finch to vice president of news services. For the past few years, Finch has been managing the radio group’s news provider partnerships and assisting Gray’s radio station with content and resource sharing as Gray’s Director of News Services. In his new role, Finch will continue his important work and lead Gray’s new in-house journalism training program and Gray’s regional content producer, the company said.
“James is committed to excellence in journalism. He is a natural teacher, and in this new role will provide even greater support for our newsroom,” said Sandy Breland, Senior Vice President, Local Media, Grey.
Finch has over 30 years of journalism experience, including experience as a corporate journalism coach, local news director, news broadcast producer, MMJ and print writer. He is a graduate of the NAB Educational Foundation’s Broadcast Leadership Training Program and a former fellow of the Carole Kneeland Responsible Journalism Program.
