Earlier this year, Atos restructured its business around three divisions, with the Technology Fundamentals division grouping activities the company defines as near-mature, such as data centres and business process outsourcing.
The other two sectors are digital and big data and security, the latter of which has so far been seen as more attractive for possible acquisition interest.
Shares in the company rose 4.5% in early trade after the announcement.
