Flint Small Business Saturday promises a focused, fun shopping experience

Flint, Mich. (WNEM) – A variety of business industries and entrepreneurs will sell their wares in one place during Small Business Saturday’s Community Shopping event.

The market is called Flint Small Business Saturday. Ebonie Gipson, founder of I’m Building Something Consulting, saw the need to focus on the shopping experience for Flint entrepreneurs and their customers during the busiest shopping weekend of the year. Flint Small Business Saturday is now in its sixth year.

“When I first started the agency, I noticed that there wasn’t a single implementation venue for entrepreneurs that could bring together entrepreneurs from all corners of the city, from different industries, so we partnered with Word of Life Christian Church to bring this platform together Together,” Gibson said.

Trades such as health and body care, fashion, jewelry, literature and photography will be exhibiting at the Word of Life Christian Church in Flint on Saturday, November 11 from 12-5pm. 26.

“A lot of different industries, and then we also have some organizations that we’re really excited about,” Gibson said. “Heart of Worship Dance Studio, they’re having an event soon and they’ll be there, so it’s a real community event.”

Flint Small Business Saturday For the 4th time, the American Express Neighborhood Champion enables the organization to better equip small business owners with the tools to succeed.

As we approach an uncertain 2023, small business owners are really counting on an influx of business this weekend, Gibson said.

“I can’t express enough how important it is to shop locally and support our Black-owned businesses this year,” Gibson said. We feel as entrepreneurs, at the grassroots level, so even though we’re sensitive to our dollars, we want you to be conscious about where you’re spending your money this holiday season. If you’re spending them in your community, if you’re spending them in your local businesses, then our economy can thrive in our backyard.”

Saturday’s event will also feature hourly giveaways and the chance to take home merchandise from each business.

“If you buy or support a certain number of entrepreneurs, then you get a free little business box full of goodies from entrepreneurs across the city, and it’s just our way of thanking the community and neighbors for supporting our events,” Gibson said Say.

Flint Small Business Saturday is hosted by Kristian “Cheesetixxz” Nunn and Gipson. The fun atmosphere also includes music from the DJ. Visit FlintSmallBusiness.com to learn more.
