Democrats weigh in on Bob Stefanovsky’s business arrangement with Saudi crown prince

HARTFORD, Conn. (WFSB) – More questions arose Monday about a business arrangement with Republican gubernatorial candidate Bob Stefanowski.

Bob Stefanowski said he couldn’t disclose his business arrangements because of client privilege, but then a leak emerged that Stefanowski felt he had to address.

Stefanowski confirmed he was an adviser to a company regulated by the Saudi crown prince.

U.S.-Saudi relations have been problematic.

While they have long been seen as counterterrorism partners, 19 of the 21 hijackers on 9/11 were Saudi nationals, and the recent brutal murder of journalist Jamal Khashocgi.

Stefanowski said: “I requested and obtained permission from my client to expand the scope of my nondisclosure agreement and share more details. It is related to my development in one of the most important technologies to combat global warming – green hydrogen work related to Air Products’ Allentown, Pennsylvania-based company in partnership with two Saudi companies.”

During a news conference on Monday, Congressman Jim Himes discussed Bob Stefanowski’s financial dealings with the Saudi government.

“This is a brutal and murderous regime, and no matter what they may or may not do to assist our counterterrorism efforts, it is time to sever ties. In that moment, Bob Stefanowski did A different decision was made. He said it was time to work with this guy,” Sims said.

“Climate change is a real issue, and the world’s largest green energy hydrogen project would make a lot of sense. It’s important not to try to make it what it isn’t,” Devlin said.

University of Connecticut political science professor Ron Schurin weighed how the news would affect voters.

“It wasn’t a blockbuster, but it didn’t help,” Shulin said.

“The people who care are the people who will vote for Ned Lamont. I don’t think it will make much of a difference, anyway,” Shurin said.
