Deloitte Announces 2022 North American Technology Fast 500 Rankings

The software and services industry category continued to dominate the list, but the growing life sciences category performed impressively at 28day Annual ranking of the fastest growing companies

San Francisco, November 16, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Deloitte today released the “North America Technology Fast 500,” an annual ranking of North America’s fastest-growing companies in the technology, media, telecommunications, life sciences, fintech and energy tech sectors, currently ranked 28 bitday year.

Technology Fast 500 winners are selected based on percentage revenue growth for the fiscal years 2018-2021. Overall, the 2022 Technology Fast 500 companies achieved revenue growth of between 241% and 125,138% over three years, with a median growth rate of 611%.

Deloitte Technology Fast 500 recipients represent more than 38 states and provinces North America. california The Bay Area does well on this year’s list, leading the region with 20 percent of the Fastest Growth Tech 500 winners, 64 percent of which come from the software and services category. The tri-state region accounted for 12% of award-winning companies; New England 6%, with 62% of the region’s winners representing new life science categories; Greater Washington, D.C., washington stateand Texas Each accounted for 5% of the award-winning enterprises.

Software and services dominate for 27th year in a row
Software and services companies once again topped this year’s Technology Fast 500 list, accounting for the majority of winners (61%) for the 27th year in a row. Among the software and services companies on the list, digital platforms represent the majority of winners (49%), followed by enterprise infrastructure and productivity at 30%. Security (13%), consumer software (6%) and education (2%, and a new sub-industry category this year), include the remaining sub-sectors in software and services. Life sciences and fintech round out the top three with 19% and 9% of total winners respectively.

Venture capital backing remains the winning formula in the 2022 Tech Fast 500 rankings, with 84% of public companies backed by venture capital or private equity financing at some point in their company history, up from 81% last year %.
