Busy weekend ahead for Columbus Enterprises, Buckeyes playing, New Year’s Eve

HILLIARD, Ohio — With the Buckeyes in the Peach Bowl on the same night as New Year’s Eve, Columbus bars and restaurants are looking forward to a busy weekend.

Some owners predict it will be one of the busiest nights of the year.

“We’re going to give it our all. We’re going to have both the NYE and the Buckeyes,” said Frank Profeta, a partner at Nasty’s Sports Bar in Hilliard.

At Roosters in Dublin, all the preparation revolves around the wings.

“I just spoke to Jordan, the kitchen manager here, and he has 70 cases of wings that he expects to sell tomorrow,” said Roosters owner Dan Ponton. “Those are just wings, not boned, so that equates to more than 16,000 wings a day.”

At Roosters, first come, first served, people are expected to start posting after doors open at 11am

“We don’t have enough space for everyone, but we do a lot of takeout,” Ponton said.

At Nasty’s, a seat at the bar can be reserved for $100. All proceeds will go to help Therapy K9s at the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.
