Business Beat: O’Reilly Begins Renovation | Business Beat

O’Reilly Auto Parts has received building permits to begin renovating space for its new “Hub Store” in High Plaza Center, 2430 S. High St.

The permit brings the building value of the renovation to more than $1.2 million

The Springfield, Missouri-based auto parts retailer already has four stores in Longview. The company said the store will be larger and more stocked than its typical location, and serve as a “hub” for other Longview locations.

BioLife opens

BioLife Plasma Services opened Saturday at 2531 Judson Road at the North Loop Plaza Shopping Center. The space was formerly occupied by a New Testament church (and a movie theater many years ago).

A renovation project worth more than $5 million paved the way for its opening.

The company previously said the center would have 50 to 70 employees and donate $2 to $3 million in donor compensation to the community.

new restaurant plan

Fun Noodle Bar is scheduled to open next year at the Pinetree Centre, at Loop 281 and Gilmer Road in West Longview.

Alex Jiao, who currently works at Abilene, said he and a business partner will own the restaurant. While there are other Fun Noodle Bar locations, he said they were not all part of the same company, but the food was similar. Once the building permit application is approved, he plans to move to Longview to remodel the space where he will open the restaurant in 130 suites.

He said the restaurant will feature “Asian cuisine” representing different countries – such as Japanese ramen noodles, as well as menu items such as dumplings, egg rolls and beef with broccoli.

Once the permit is approved, he expects it could take six months to retrofit the space, given possible issues with delivering the required equipment.

A building permit application submitted to the City of Longview lists the construction value of the project as $200,000.

Compared to a year ago, active listings fell 5% to 152 and inventory fell to 1.8 months. The number of completed sales increased by about 3% to 91 units.
