2 people in St.St. Louis high school shooting, gunman also dead

A teenage girl and an adult woman were killed by a gunman in a shooting at Central High School for Visual and Performing Arts in St. Louis. St. Louis, Missouri, Monday morning, according to authorities.

The gunman was “quickly stopped by the police” and there was an exchange of fire, and the suspect was dead. St. Louis Public School District and St. Lewis Police.

Police said the suspect appeared to be about 20 years old.

Police said the shooting happened around 9:10 a.m. local time. Police said they reported a gunman armed with a long gun as the students fled the building.

Several victims were hospitalized with injuries including gunshot wounds and shrapnel, police said.

“The scene is safe and there is no active threat,” police said.

Authorities did not say how the gunman entered the building, but police stressed the school’s doors were locked.
